Very good advice about the dangers!

I was inspired by a recent post by NoRules with his amazing stacked shots of the sun:

As a result, I bought some of the Baader solar film which is also not very expensive. It gives a white light response though, not the yellow colour of the Thousand Oaks film. Of course you can make the colour what you like with some PP.

I've only done a preliminary test so far, using my ZS30 plus adapter with the Nikon E17ED TC. This is the result (not stacked, just a single image):

Of course it isn't in the same league as NoRules' excellent stacked result but it does show the sunspots reasonably well I think.
