Re: What's the series?

Thanks Wayne. I do remember a few gems I missed, just randomly shooting. One was the early morning sun breaking over some mountains in Arizona just beyond the California border on I-40 - I couldn't stop the car at that point. Another I still have dreams about is when approaching Albuquerque going East, about 30 miles out (not sure of the distance), breaking over a hill and seeing a vast valley below with a freight train stretching from one end of the valley to the other. Another photo I probably couldn't have taken even with camera in hand was when I went into a restaurant in Gallup NM, and I was standing near a Navajo woman, she about 70 years old I'd guess, and she looked at me with the saddest eyes I'd ever seen.

My wife's brother met a Navajo girl in 1982 and married her and they raised 3 kids on the Rez, in Dennehotso AZ. She died in 1993 in the Hantavirus outbreak and he took the kids to Akron OH where his mom lived, then he died in 1996 of cancer. We took the kids to L.A. and after a couple years they migrated back to their extended family in Arizona. In the meantime we got a very large education on Indian affairs. Then, a few years ago working in a large software co. in SoCal, my chain of command above me included 3 people who were natives of India. I used to poke fun telling them about my relatives who are "Indians". It's a really fascinating world we live in.
