Full frame Canon 6D with 24-105 IS L zoom goes for $2300 in Canada. Canon 24-104 L zoom alone costs $1,300. How can Olympus compete with a M.4/3 costing $1500 or more when FFs costs little more?

First off, all of this discussion is based on rumors not hard information. So let's not jump to conclusions.

Second, suppose the rumors are right and the E-M1 + 12-40 kit is priced at $2,200 versus the $2,600 USD as listed on Amazon and bhphoto. (Sure, you can find kits cheaper on ebay, but I'm looking for common baseline sources of pricing for reputable sources.). Last time I check, $2,200 < $2,600.

Third, (maybe someone can do the comparison with the pics of the E-M1 + 12-40, but I used the E-M5 + 12-35 as a reasonable approximation since that's available on the size comparison site):

So here's my question. Why would you buy the 6D + 24-105 at $2,600 when you could get an E-M5 + 12-40 at $2,200?

For some even m4/3rds is not light enough. My wife practically gifted me the E-P5 (already smaller than the E-M) but I found that I couldn't fit a good zoom on it and still reasonably put it in a pouch to clip on my belt. I did sone of that dreaded equivalence math and image comparisons and found that the XZ-2 can give me the same low light performance as a 3.5-5.6 kit lens on the latest m4/3rds bodies, so bought that. The E-P5 may be looking for a new owner...
