Re: Good light this weekend...

Here are a few from Friday morning. We were lucky to have beautiful clouds and lighting, which doesn't happen too often in southern California. The first photo below was taken with a newly acquired 'used' 24mm TS-E version 1. It's a two shot panorama with the lens shifted about 8mm in each direction. The second photo was taken with the Rokinon 14mm f2.8, which is a gem of a lens for it's ~$350 price point. Both of these lens are manual focus, so live view + 10x magnification was my best friend. As always, I highly recommend clicking the 'view original' link for each photo, as dpreview downsampling makes the previews look very soft.

they are both ver nice.  the first one really has the HDR look, as the shadows have been pushed a little too far with some shifting of colors in the greens.  I would increase the contrast, and pull back on the blacks/shadow a little bit.  teh colors and clouds are of course stunning in both.  it is also a matter of taste, but this degree of diverging lines in trees and building might be worth consideration for vertical perspective correction.
