Disappointing GX7 DR & SN figures?

Techradar has published a review which shows the DR & SN ratio of the GX7 to be inferior to those of the OM-D EM-5 and X-E1:

Look at the RAW results as these indicate the sensor characteristics rather than the subsequent processing.

Assuming the data is reliable, why on earth did Panasonic not at least use the Sony sensor as it did in the GH3? They seem to think that the new features, great and welcome though they are, are more important the IQ. For me this is a big disappointment!

I think Panasonic have missed an opportunity to create a market leading camera and, as an owner of a much loved GF1, I've been waiting, in vain it now seems, for a very long time for a state-of-the-art version.
