I will go for one of the 2.8 zooms instead, or if I want a street lens, the X100s, since m43 has nothing good for that. They are much better value, considering everything.

The 12-35/2.8 seems to be much sharper

DIGLLOYD.COM : "What a pity to reach for an ƒ/1.8 design and then cripple it with this kind of mediocre sharp-somewhere-else result. Surely Olympus can do better than this for nearly $500: one cannot get sharp focus wide open, or stopped down where intended. The focus shift wrecks things, and the field curvature makes the game a mental gymnastic on top of it."

I want something around the same FL as my Pana 20/1.7 with faster focusing (and no potential banding) but this is around $650 where I am (without a lens hood) and this lens has been almost universally criticized by reviews for almost every possible flaw that a lens can have including lack of sharpness, field curvature, focus shift, and CA.
