M43 Diffraction with test data and pix

There is currently much discussion on this forum about the effect on image sharpness of reducing lens aperture. The subject has been discussed previously at length. I thought forum members might like to see results of a simple test, posted here http://cameraergonomics.blogspot.com.au/2013/08/m43-practice-diffraction-unsharpness.html    on my Camera Ergonomics Blog.  On this test with the 35-100mm f2.8 lens used, sharpness in a broad central area of the frame is the same from f2.8 to about f8. First signs of softness start to appear at about f9.

This finding is consistent with my real world experience of M43 cameras and lenses.

Happy reading
