In general, I think glass is a better investment than camera bodies, especially since the 12-35 is an outstanding performer and since Panasonic bodies seems to depreciate very rapidly.

Here's a small set of photos I took with the combination of the GX1 and 12-35:


I now use the OM-D with the 12-35, and find it to be an amazing combination. I have found the 12-35 great for travel photography and for landscapes.  All of my 12-35 photos on Flickr are here, most taken with the OM-D:


You may want to see what the new Olympus 12-40 has to offer, though the IS of 12-35 will be an advantage when shooting on a Panasonic body.
