Knowing the Earth is round doesn't help anyone get to work any faster, although some people, like pilots, make good use of the information, and others just think it's worth knowing.

Bringing it back to photography, think of all the times people complained about "too many pixels", and yet, the best performing mFT (and FF) sensors are the ones with the highest pixel counts (and, incidentally, the ones with the least noise, too). Of course, this does nothing to help you take a better photo, although it might play a role in your purchase decisions.

I never disagreed.

Excellent!

You know how some people would choose the larger, heavier, and more expensive 75 / 1.8 over the Sigma 60 / 2.8? Does that mean they'll get better photos? Well, it's something like that.

well, that is what I call a matter of personal needs and preference.

Indeed -- I'm a huge proponent of that philosophy.

For what I am doing, most of the time ill take better photos with the 75mm1,8 than the 60mm 2.8. Not because the lens is better but because it is 1.3 stops fastEr. That for me is a very important factor that is worth the weight and price difference between these two lenses.

I absolutely agree.
