My normal kit is a 10-22, 17-55, and 70-200. When I only carry two, typically I take the 17-55 and the 70-200. If I can't take the 70-200 (size/weight/"no pro lenses") I take a 55-250 instead. If I really have to go light with the 7D, I take the 17-55 and an 85 f1.8. This is all for normal shooting - for macro, it's the 100mm macro. I have several other lenses, but essentially just use the above.

On the other hand, it's pretty clear from the above list that my real key lens is the 17-55 f2.8 IS. This is a wonderful lens with a really useful range (although I wish it went out to 85mm).
