Help please! Broken Canon EOS Lens 85mm f/1.2 FD L

I wish I could help. I used to used one of these in my film days on a Canon New F1 and loved it ( if we are talking about the same lens).

I bought the EF version when I got my Canon 5D2.

Maybe a better option would be to trawl eBay etc to see if you can get a good used copy but maybe you've already considered this.

I live just outside Chicago, IL in the suburbs. I’ve already sent the lens to International Camera, they took over a month to fix it but when I picked it up, it still wasn’t working and they said they could not fix it. This was a $1500.00 dollars lens and now is just a paperweight. I am very disappointed with Canon. Seems like even their lenses are made disposable now days. My question for everyone is this – is there a place in the US where they can repair this lens? Apparently the board and focusing motor are dead. Please, I do not want to just throw it away. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide me.
