Hi, I currently have a NEX 7, which I use mostly for family travel, for other purposes I have a canon 6D.

I love the NEX grip/and compact size, the panoramas or twilight modes for snapshots when the only available lens is the kit. But I have a huge amount of out of focus pictures, due to the AF not being fast enough for my kids.

Do you think the NEX6, will be better at it? or the next, NEX?

Or should I switch systems? I just have one native lens, the kit.

Thank you

If your AF on the 6D is fast enough, then that's the answer. The difference between the 6 and 7 isn't worth debating.

HOWEVER...

The secret to getting faster/more accurate focusing is to learn how to "double-tap" your shutter release to get the lens close to the right focus. The first tap gets it close - the second nails it perfectly.

I might also suggest you learn how to zone focus. Believe it or not, some of us had very active kids before - get this - autofocus came to consumer cameras. Yes we did - and we got great sharp images.

Zone focusing. I was shooting a kart race last weekend with the 55-210 and the 16-50. Zone focused. Worked perfectly.
