No one is going to be drug to the cash register kicking and screaming to buy the OMD EM-1.  I bought the E-5 new for $1699 USD and have no regrets.  That does not mean everyone else who thought about it went out and bought it.  In the end, each one will have to figure if the camera (and perhaps grip and adapter) is worth the price.

Last time I checked, supply and demand determined the price, and, as has no doubt been said before, you will not get something for nothing, and Olympus is not in business to loose money (well hopefully not in the long term).
