Re: Get the best of two worlds

Do not forget the Sony branded lenses such as the 50mm f1.8 and 30mm f2.8 are cheap at only £150 in the UK. I just bought the latter 30mm for £99 refurbished from Sony and I think it is just stock clearance as it is like new. This lens can focus from 5" to infinity. Probably not sharp if you want to see the molecules in the corners but not a bad lens. You can get the Tamron 70-300 for £99 in the UK with a 5 year warranty.

I think the A58 seems outstanding value for money and if size is not the driver the best choice. The Sony SLT's are pretty large beasts though and the A37/A58 are the only ones that I think are nice to handle weight and sizewise but are still lumpier than the NX20 and the NX 18-55 does rather negate the size difference, much preferred the 20-50 myself. Difficult choice.

Wheras I swore never to buy a camera with a sluggish 2.7 inch screen, I do not want to it miss it, since I got excellent lenses Samsung does not offer or are far more expensive.

Minolta 50mm f1.7 (can be had very cheap)
Sigma 90mm f2.8 Macro (excellent macro and portrait lens)
Sigma 70-200 F2.8 APO (excellent lens for concert shots - but really heavy)

Nowadays it doesn't make sens to believe, you buy into ONE camera system. Reason: bodies are so cheap, throwing NX200 + 30mm lens into the bag will release you from lens swapping. Two cameras around your neck will give you the best of two worlds.

I also keep sweetly in mind, all this old glass mentioned above is FF capable .... and will work on future Sony FF cameras (one that is in my funds).
