It's all Good news for m4/3 if it occurs

Yes, it's all based on rumors. Rumors about Sony's next sensor feeding into rumors about what may be possible for Olympus. The Sony sales rep' I spoke with at a recent camera store event didn't know anything about it.

But if it happens it could be good for Sony and Olympus. It's also possible that Sony would try this with one camera first as a test of what the market will accept, what will sell.

Whatever Olympus is going to offer next is still unknown. Rumors are rumors. We'll all know pretty soon. When and if Sony or Olympus offers PDAF on sensor we'll want to test it in real-world situations to see how well it works. I suppose it's likely to happen eventually, it's just a question of when.

I'm pretty sure Olympus does not have access to Canon or Nikon's PDAF or two pixel AF sensor technology. All those systems and components get patented and remain highly guarded technology secrets.
