The S5 is a wonderful camera, I doubt you'll be disappointed with the results. It's the same body as the D200, though the menu configuration might be different. As well, the battery is not the same, not sure why Fuji decided against using Nikon's.

I've never used a Sigma lens on my S2/3 bodies, so I can't comment. My experience with the S2/3 suggests that if the glass is good the results will be good. I don't think the Fuji's perform very well with anything less than top quality glass.

CutlassCait, that new Sigma lens is supposed to be a very sharp lens and a very nice one.  I personally don't like and can't use that focal range because is too short for me ending at 35mm.  For that use instead the Nikon 35 1.8.  Great great little lens for less than $200 bucks.

What i wanted to suggest is that BEFORE you buy the Sigma lens make sure that lens is not back focusing with your S5 camera body.  For whatever reason my nikon 16-85 lens was backfocusing at the wide 16mm to around 25mm range.  This happened with TWO Fuji S5 bodies that i tested the lens with.  I didn't realize this until later on, so make sure that lens will work properly with your S5 body, otherwise it will be useless and a waste of money.

I don't know why the 16-85 was having this problem, but i sold it and bought the Nikon 17-55 and the focusing is PERFECT, fast, and accurate at every focal range.
