Please help me - Canon EOS M or Olympus E-PM2?

Hello,

I'm a beginner, and until now I only used simple point and shoot cameras. I do love to take pictures, and I decided it's time to step up to a better camera. I use the camera at home and outside, and use it for people including my 1.5 years old daughter. I'm looking for a camera that will give me good image quality, and also nice effects like shallow depth of field. I won't be able to buy more lenses in the near future, so I'll use the kit lens.

I almost decided to buy the Olympus E-PM2, because of it's image quality and speed performence. But than I saw the following post:

The post was published by someone with requirement similar to mine, who ordered both Canon EOS M and Olympus E-PL5 (which should have image quality quite similar to the E-PM2), and claim that alothough the Olympus was faster and more comfortable to use, the Canon produced much better image quality. Most of the responders agree with her, and some related the difference to the much better Canon kit lens. She finally decided to buy the EOS M.

Now I find it really hard to choose. The image quality and the colors is the most important parameters for me, and if the Canon delivers better pictures than I should buy it, even if it is only because it has sharper kit lens, because the kit lens is what I'm going to use. Yet the Olympus is faster and this is also important. Do you have any comments concerning the iamge quality and colors? what would you do?
