There is no greater love than Chris62 for his LX7 and he loves listing voluminous and rather suspect statistics on his beloved camera. Apparently the LX7 is a match for all DSLR's, I doubt if any camera can match his LX7 let alone the EX2. These are all based on web reviews and he has never used an EX2 as far as I know which does not make him an experienced user as he claims.

Possibly he could confirm if he has used the EX2 extensively in his own hands enough to be familiar with all its features.

Crikey, I thought that it was only Samsung users who did this...

Question for those who upgraded (maybe some time ago) from the EX1 to the EX2: Was it worth while? IQ ooc the same or better? Camera faster, more responsive? Better handling? Anything that was a step back? Pls note I'm not interested in video or wifi. Many thanks!

If you think about upgrade ...Panasonic LX7 is much better camera than EX2.

Good points:

*automatic switching of ND filter - very very useful if you want keep optimal MTF or full opened apertures.

Multi aspect sensor -> equal diagonal in 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 and even bracketing of aspect ratios.

Faster a liitle longer lens and wider ->in mode 16:9 about 22 mm eqv.

90/F2,3 very useful and Intelligent zoom 180 mm allows take further objects and quality drop is small.

Lens is very very nice, Leica did good job.

Very good software, intelligent resolution i dynamic and many more options.

Very fast and precise AF - for me the base of any camera.

Very useful aperture ring placed on lens - mostly in A and M modes.

ND filter lever easy to operate and useful in MF too.

Very good optional viewfinder LVF2 widh 90 degrees regulation - necessery in bright lighting.

Good battery life - with viewfinder better.

Very good fullHD Movies - I did some during last holidays and do montage in computer software.

If you try movies you will be convinced do more - with such wonderful quality it is nice and camcorder is not needed.

To my work I use slow motion movie to watch device behavior.

I use Samsung NX and I also was interested EX2 but after researching checking, testing I choosed LX7 nad I'm very satisfied.

Both cameras together I used during holidays - NX with 50-200 for tele range and LX7 for wide range and movies. I did not have to change lenses (it is difficult sometimes) and I have nice pictures with very good quality too - nobody can distingish what is from LX7 and what DSLRs - my friends had on the same trip so I have comparison.

EX2 dissapionted me. Optics are worse than in EX1. Lack of viewfinder, and not perfect ergonomical aspects. Even spare battery charger is not in the package.

Only the screen is OK in this camera but it is not enough.

Think that for Panasonic you will find much more accesories as external flash in egzample.

And int the end LX7 is made in Japan EX2 in China - it makes a risk of quality issues.

Of course the choise is up to you I try to advice/help as an experienced user.

Good luck

Chris.
