I know what you mean. I have the 16-50 kit zoom, just purchased the 8mm Rokinon fish-eye, which covers the wide angles well. I can de-fish and correct perspective, so I have less need for the 10-18mm than ever and may just leave it at home for the most part. There is the distortion at very wide angles even in a rectilinear lens, so I figure I may as well correct the fish-eye as needed. I may change my opinion about my need for 10-18mm after doing it this way for awhile.

Do you have the 8/2.8 fisheye? I keep swinging back and forth on whether to get that lens or not. It's at least 1/2 the price of the 10-18, and manual focus isn't an issue when using such a wide lens.

The issue is that on my NEX-7 I will have magenta corners, which is an extra step to correct. The 10-18 should perform better.
