Weird Exposure Problem - Overheating?

Whilst travelling in South East Asia I've noticed a curious problem appear with my NX20. On a couple of occasions captured photos are either overexposed or only partly recorded. I noticed this when taking a set of photos to stitch into a panorama:

The first 4 are part of the sequence, the 5th is a test shot when I realised what was happening. Comparing the EXIF details, you can see the final shot should not have been overexposed.

I thought perhaps this might be overheating, as it was an extremely hot day and there's a chance I'd left the camera turned on in the bag. I turned it off, waited a few minutes and it seemed to return to normal.

Then today I noticed a different issue. I took a photo, recomposed for a different subject, pressed the shutter and saw an image flash up of the previous photo. I pressed it twice again and saw the same thing happen another 2 times. Only when I turned the camera off and on again did I actually succeed in capturing an image of the subject I was pointing the camera at!

The images seem to degrade in quality, almost as if the camera was dumping the buffer onto the card, without waiting for it to clear properly. Below is the final shot of the 4:

Does anyone know if this could be caused by overheating? or have any other suggestions what could be causing this?

Edit: and now I seem to be having trouble getting the images to display properly Hopefully it works now...
