NO. This is sensor issue. And, as you know, M43 was not first. The very first appearance of banding can be traced to Pentax K-5 with the same SONY back illuminated sensor.

First, neither Sony m43 nor sony APS-C sensors are BSI.

Second, EVERY analogue electronic device is sensitive to electromagnetic induction, including ADC schemes in the sensor. Moreover, being MORE sensitive is a good thing in a sensor.

On the other hand, it is a responsibility of any electronic device NOT to generate EM waves outside of those approved by FCC or other local governing body, and the lens apparently does generate them.

Let me catch you on the word "apparently"

Believe me, all proponents of the theory that lens can contribute to banding use this word "apparently" more than any other

Other lenses don't generate the banding, this does, the only changed element is the lens, so it is a generator of a cause of the problem (unless you believe that some invisible unknowable thing comes into play every time you mount this lens onto a camera). The only possible explanation for the noise in the picture, due to electrical nature of the sensor, is electromagnetic noise, either in the ether or in the wires connecting the lens to the body - generated by the lens in both cases. The latter is unlikely because the wires already transmit alternating current (for signals) with all AF lenses and they do not produce noise, if the noise would be higher in amplitude than the signals it could generate noise but then the signals would not go through and the lens would not autofocus/tell its current focus etc, which is not the case.

Other lenses generate banding too. Just process photos the same way to see no difference.
