Spring inside the lens is a pure mechanical with the purpose to eliminate flex between moving parts

If the spring is connected to (just touches) the ground of the electrical parts of the lens (and it probably does touch them as it is a common design to have ground wire everywhere), then electrical current flows through it, and if the current is alternating (as 100% the case with signal wires), it generates electromagnetic field.

The spring touches nothing but plastic. The innards of the lens are mostly plastic so there isn't ground everywhere.

Have you seen the internals yourself? From the picture it is not apparent what the spring touches inside the lens.
