I suppose what you mean by "difficult" is that manual focusing and holding steady the 75-150mm is not easy? I agree with you! But the results are worth it, it seems. :-

The focusing is particularly tricky with my 75-150mm. The lens will actually meter on the D200, so that's one less thing to worry about, but with the focusing barrel* affecting both focal length and focus... on top of the fact that you are in a tricky 75-150mm focal lenth, I find it difficult to nail the focus.

*not sure if that's what it's called

I have a lot of experience and fun with manual 24mm manual N-AI on my D40 and that's an entirely different situation. Focal length is locked in and at 24mm, the depth of field is very large; a lot of room for error.
