Making a hyperlink work on an email document.

I don't think this is a Mac problem, but I have had no luck linking an image. What I need to do if possible is the following;

I want to email prospective clients a photo sample of my photography work that has the blue clickable hyper link embedded in the photo that will take them to my web site after clicking on the link. I have tried every way possible using the slice tool in Photoshop 5.5 on my Mac and just can't figure it out. I also sliced the 1000X 700 pixel image trying to make it easy for clients to enter the web site by clicking anywhere on the image. Again, i just can't make the web site address clickable. I have Googled so many times asking the questions in many ways, but still come up with zeros. I am using a .jpg image and as far as i can see, I need to have HTML on the end of the address??

Any kind of advice would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks!
