Decision on Bridge Cameras for Safari

If I'd have to select a bridge camera specificly for a safari, I would choose the Fuji X-S1. It has an excellent and relatively large sensor which performs extremely well in difficult light situations. The build quality is very good, it feels and handles much more like a dSLR than a semi-compact camera.

The X-S1 has a high quality fast 26x optical zoom lens and a more than adequate EVF. I've used mine quite a bit and find it regularly outperforms my dSLR's.
