WOL, looking for experts....

I have been trying to wake up computers from shut down state from outside network for quite awhile now without success. The closest I came is to wake them up from sleep.

Everywhere I read it says it is possible.

Here is what I tried so far:

1. Port Forward port 9. Does not work if I send Magic Packet.

2. Disable Magic Packet only, works, I can wake my computers up from sleep using regular Remote Dektop.

3. Tried whole bunch of software and websites to send Magic Packet.

Netgear WNR3500 (not L, so no tomato and such upgrade) U-Verse 3801HGV in Bridge mode.

Firewall is on Netgear WNR 3500.

Anyone have any ideas?

The secondary problem I am having is that for some reason if one computer is awake the others awaken too. Could be shared printer driver. Who knows. But if others are shut down it would be better.
