I can't say the same thing about my *istD. At 12 seconds to write a file, it wasn't especially awe inspiring, even in it's day. I'm on my fifth DSLR now, each one a big enough step from the last one that I felt OK with it, but with the K5, I'm pretty content. Mine has the really bad low light focusing that plagues the model, but it isn't enough to make me want a K5II. I'll probably run my K5 until it dies, unless Ricoh does something incredible....
