assuming that you bought a 128GB card, SDXC, acording to Olympus the camera will only support a maximum 64GB card. Future firmware updates may fix this issue.

Newer cameras support SD, SD-HC and SD-XC cards (E-PM1, E-PM2, E-PL3, E-PL5, E-M5, E-P3, E-P5), but older cameras like the OP's E-P1 only support SD and SD-HC cards. SD-HC cards max out at 32 gigabytes:

So, if you have a 128 gigabyte SD-XC card, it will not work on the E-P1. You need to exchange it for a smaller SD-HC card.

Alternatively, if you have a 128 megabyte card, it is an old card (and it might be MMC and not SD). You would need to get something newer. Note, if you use card readers, you might need to upgrade your card reader to support SD-HC as well. Just for fun, I went over to B&H, and you can get 32GB SD-HC cards from Lexar, SanDisk, PNY, Kingston, or Transcend for under $30.

Olympus recommends at least a class 6 card if you are shooting video.

Note, if you buy a brand name card from random ebay sellers, you may get a card that was made by somebody else, and a fake label put on the card. From the limited amount of time I've walked through Best Buy and other big box stores, the prices on media cards tend to be high.
