Re: Marumi DHG Super Lens Protect 82mm Filter owners?

I'm using a HOYA Pro-1D 82mm UV and it is compatible with the cap and does not cause additional vignetting.

And don't let those naked runners talk you out of buying a UV filter. My friend had a 16-35 damaged by sea water splash entering from the front. It is NOT weather sealed without a front filter.

Also all Canon L lense beside the super-teles need a front filter to seal the lens. That includes the famous 70-200 IS II. Trust me, I disassembled one and it is obviously NOT sealed on the front without a filter. There is a big open gap between filter thread and front element retaining ring. You want your L lenses to work in all environments you likely to shoot and don't feel like babying them? Put one some good UV filters.

Pixel peepers will cry this makes your image smear! Additonal flare! I've shot landscape with Lee Grad resin filters on it and it is sharp at pixel level.
