Would you give up an LCD screen + video for a small, cheap FF camera (<$1000 new body)?

Would you give up an LCD screen + video for a small, cheap FF camera (<$1000 new body)?

Now I know the $/performance of FFs is lower than ever, photography is controlled by the tool behind the camera etc etc.

But I was thinking... how cool would it be to have something like an actual old SLR body? Just the top LCD and some very basic indicators in the viewfinder, as well as super basic functions (Aperture, Shutter, ISO, exposure control). There seems to be this huge "retro" movement in design... do you think there is a market for such a camera? Or are we too used to relying on screens to ensure the perfect shot?

I envision something like this with a few FF pancakes (i.e. the Canon 40mm F/2) being the next step up from an Oly PEN or Sony NEX. As well as being a great tool for honing photography skills.

Or am I just crazy?
