Re: Buying an emount f/2.8 zoom?

That would be a perfect concert/sports/events lens. The current 55-210 is pretty unusable for all that -- it's slow, soft, with unreliable focusing, so-so image stabilization -- I finally got rid of it. I'm currently using manual Nikon 75-150/3.5, and it's a marvelous lens, very sharp, reasonably fast, and the size of 55-210. If Sony could make something similar or better, they can easily charge $1000-1500 and they will be flying off the shelves. But I'm afraid, all quality stuff is reserved for A-mount cameras, so if they start producing compact A-mount, that will be the place to be.

SAR has a rumor about the 55-150 f/2.8 zoom e mount and asked would you buy one? I voted "no". Half voted "yes" and the other half voted "no" or "I don't know". I have the 55-210 zoom and usually use in outdoors during the day, so its f/4.5-6.3 doesn't bother me. I usually don't need a fast zoom outdoors.

Now if the rumored 16-xx zoom comes out as a constant f/2.8, I'd be the first to buy one. I have a Canon EPS 17-55 f/2.8. It's a great walk around and good indoors in low light.

So if both rumored lenses (55-150 and 16-xx) come out as f/2.8, which one would you buy?
