I run the 14-54 Mk I on the MMF-3.  As you say, it really is an excellent lens, great value.  But, it *is* slow to AF.  I've lost shots because the bird flew off after 2 secs, the traffic started up again 2 secs after I saw the through-the-bus-window shot of the temple I wanted, etc etc.  Yes, I have S-AF (MF assist) set, and if the subject stays still for just 3 secs, the results are terrific;  but...
