I have heard from two independent industry sources that they expect the DSLR market (as opposed to mirror less) to be entirely full frame by the next full generation.

Nah. This won't happen in the next five years ... if ever.

Just look at the prices of all FF cameras ever made and you will see that manufacturers have been charging at least a $1000 premium for FF - compared to their similarly spec'd crop counterparts.

This is a very steep premium for 'better image quality' - an intangible feature, appreciated mostly (only?) by select few.

The current $1000+ FF premium needs to drop down to $200-300 max, IMO, to entice 'regular' buyers to spend extra for the better image quality of FF vs its identically spec'd crop counterpart.

That is, the D600 and 6D successors need to be priced at $1500 max, rather than $2000+, if FF is to become mainstream.

I don't see this happening in the next five years.
In addition to not being very feasible economically, I just don't see manufacturers giving up the high premium that they currently enjoy for FF.
