one lens?

tough call. been all over europe and never used just one lens. funny thing about europe is the congested cities need wide, fast zooms. AND, teles for close ups of strange and weird objects/scenes. also, lots of great shots happen indoors. a 35 f1.8 prime slips right in your pocket and on a cmos is equal to about 50mm. I love fast glass, but it's HEAVY. if you're not getting too artistic and abstract, 18-105 or 18-300. both need lots of light however so keep your prime close
