In the old days, manufacturers used to offer custom lenses for the viewfinders of their Pro cameras that you could have ground to match your eyeglass prescription. (Maybe they still do, I haven't bought a true pro-level camera in a long time.)  But I recall that for my Canon F1N this option was available, but not cheap.

Maybe they feel it's less important today, since so many people where contacts.
