Yes, which kinda makes a mockery of the DXO claim that the 35 f/2 Zeiss will yield the same resolution on both the 5D3 and D800.

Not really. The D800E will usually require less sharpening, by default.

As to whether it's important or not, that's in the eye of the beholder, but isn't that what people who buy higher res cameras are after?

DxO is the definition of mockery.
