Perhaps. Better an FZ50 image than none at all though. To date the first 10 seconds of an FZ's life belongs to the 50 (and FZ30). If you want a shot before then with a motor zoom, you'd better hope the composition and the EV adjustment fluked it when switched on; or that it was already on and pointing at the target.

I learned with the FZ20 that my photography happens the 35mm film way. I walk along for a few minutes. I see a shot. I raise the camera. I take the shot. I lower the camera. I walk along again. The FZ20 couldn't cope with that at all and I thought that was the way forever. I never dreamed the FZ30 and FZ50 would be such a distant blip on the radar by now.

The FZ50: DSLR handling of a bright, non-extending Leica 35-420mm F2.8-3.7 lens. I live in hope that Mr Ichiro Kitao, Mr Michiharu Uematsu and Mr Yoshiyuki Inoue have triggered the update to the FZ50. Please update the FZ50. It is unique and users of it cannot update without compromise of one or more of its combination of features.
