I need the flexibility.

Note: I WILL be bringing primes - just won't be carrying them on the shore excursions (probably). I have Sigma 35 F1.4, 50F1.4g, 85F1.8g, 105VR and 300F4. (I have others too, but no longer use them.) The 50 and 300 aren't going to make the trip. The primes will be used in limited scenarios, but not on walking shore excursions.

On this trip, I will be limited by my travel companions and the fact I'll be on guide shore excursions a lot. Zooms will be necessary. Two zooms are my current choice, if I can satisfy myself that I can cover 90% of what I need with two.

Ah, makes sense.  Modern zooms are excellent - 24-70, 14-24 etc. I don't own any of those. I am jealous of your trip though!
