Re: Why mirrorless over dslr?

I have the Nikon J1 and a D7000.  When I first got the J1 I was very excited to take it everywhere and use it for almost all things photographic.  Then I started seeing the hit in image quality that I had to take in all but the very best lighting conditions.  So I started carrying the D7000 much more often.

But with a mirrorless system like the m4/3 or a fuji morrorless, you would not be taking an IQ hit.  The latest round of mirrorless are very good with very high image quality.  So that isn't an issue.  So the only question is are you willing to trade in some external control functionality for compactness?  To me, the D7000 is a good size - it fits my hands well.  The J1 is much smaller, but is also harder to adjust quickly due to lack of external controls.
