Nitpicking
2

I have an OMD which i use sometimes with a Nikon 500/4. Can it be used. Yes. Can I autofocus. No. Given that  the purpose of the lens is largely to photograph wildlife, losing autofocus is problematic.

i love the OMD. But some realism is required. Autofocus is a large and necessary part of photography for many people. So to argue that since all lenses are adaptable to mirrorless then there is no lens gap is foolishness.
