$299 versus $1k...?

From a pure value proposition, the EOS-M, an APS-C, very tiny mirror-less camera at $299.00 is a screaming bargain by any measure.

I don't believe there should be any argument about that.  It is pretty amazing that they crammed such a large sensor into a small camera body.

We should treat the EOS-M for what it is:  a first generation product with some flaws, from a camera company that is capable of making cameras with good to great image quality.

The vices and virtues of APS-C versus Micro-Four Thirds are a completely different discussion and argument.

At the end of the day, if I'm on a budget and want a decent travel camera with a relatively large sensor, the EOS-M does not seem like a bad choice at the discounted $299.00 price.

The 11-22 increases its value, which makes it really, really puzzling why it (for now) will not be sold in the U.S.
