Howzit Hans. Yep the top and viewfinder displays work intermittently on the E-5 . And before that the shutter broke.

The lens is big and it is heavy but I have tried out heavier lenses. I find that the lens hood adds to better balance with the camera so I will leave it on. That means I will probably take off the protective filter. Big lenses are difficult to handle as you know and one has to find the eqnique that works for you.

I found the focus responsive and accurate even in Iffy light its also reasonably quite and fast.

As to the EC20 the focus was just about the same and when looking at the pictures ( The few that I took ) they are better than the bigma and this was shooting wide open. There is also no CA ( Which the bigma can produce and needs a clone brush to remove ) and the colour is good as some Sigma lenses have a magenta hue. Then there is the bokeh which so far is fantastic . The other 2 lens (Bigma and 50-200 ) can have very busy ugly backgrounds.

I will wait for some light and then try it out in Ernest.

AS to the price the seller paid what he sold it for and he has got rid of it as he was not using it. I got lucky for a change. I must thank him for putting it up for sale and setting a price I could afford. He is a Doctor who runs a pharmaceutical company and a very nice guy.
