VF's aside, as a long-term camera, the XE1 will be loads more versatile. The X100S is, essentially, a 1 trick pony. Great for street photo-ing, landscape, and so on. Forget portraiture, wildlife, anything requiring any telephoto reach at all. The XE1, without the OVF, has a growing number of first class native lenses. The more lenses, the more you can do with the camera.

The other obvious option is the XPro1, which has the versatility of the XE1, plus that beautiful OVF. More $$$, though. The X100S should focus faster than either of the other 2, but I haven't tried one so don't really know.

Understood, I'm on the subject for a while now and I have the same feeling I already own a mirrorless with a set of few lenses, so the Fuji is something extra to the set, and in some cases can act on its own like the street shooting.
