Who already gave up on a D400 and went with something else?

Re: Neither waited or gave up

I bought a D7000 to tolerate the wait for the D400. I still have my D300, but I only use it when I know I'll need 8 fps or when carrying two bodies. I would feel no need to upgrade with the D7000 sensor in a D300 style/performance body. I am more of an ultrawide angle shooter than anything, so I am considering a move to a D800 instead of a D400, but I will wait another 6 mos at least to see what the D400 brings. As two of my most used lenses are DX (10.5 mm fisheye and a 10-24), my preference is to stay with DX as I also have a Sigma 50-150 II. I would really like to get the 14-24, but know that it is somewhat wasted on a DX body. I also don't think I really NEED to drop $4 - 5K on an FX upgrade. In the end, I might decide to settle for the D7100 or its replacement as my D7000/D300 combo does 90% of what I need.
