My reason for buying HX-50 was very simple. I need camera for my vacation, travels and documentary my family. Quick move to my pocket and I'm ready to take a photo.

And if quality (almost ) suit me fine it means that I have what I want.

Right Ernet!.

We've worked with HX100V (very alike HX50V but bigger and fewer pixels) for almost two years and it's made excellent shots and produced beautiful poster size printings, even more... we can enhance little sensor images to almost equalize or sometimes even surpass RX100's IQ by applying a bit of post-processing... so to me, HX50V versatility weights a lot more than RX100's pixel level IQ... and if needing serious IQ we use A65.
