I've had a succession of Canon DSLRs from the 300D on - every model until the 450D and then late last year I jumped to the 650D - all excellent cameras and the 650D was well worth the upgrade.

About a month after I got the 650D I noticed dust spots on my photos and looking more closely I found about 10 spots.  Using a blower I was able to remove one but the rest remained.  I was rather surprised as I'd honestly never had a problem with dust spots on any of my previous models.  Anyway, Canon cleaned it under warranty and very soon all was well again and I filed it in my mind as "just one of those things".

Until now.  I've just noticed a new crop of dust spots.  I know they're not the end of the world as they can easily be edited out but I'm very surprised that in a few months I've suffered this twice with this camera, after years of nothing with a succession of previous ones.

Is this some strange and undesirable quirk of the 650D?  Or could it be in some way related to my use of an EF-S 55-250mm that I obtained around the same time?

I'm curious to know what could be going on here.  I'm sure I'm no less careful with lens-

changing etc than I ever was, so I don't think it's me to blame.

From your story, I'm more thinking of your new 55-250 lens causing this dust problem.  It might has leak or simply tendency to pull more dust than usual.

So, when you got your 650D cleaned, try to use other lenses that you use previously with your older camera and see the difference.  Or put your 55-250 on your old camera.
