My peaking question thread hasn't really been answered yet. I don't know why DMF with peaking is unavailable with this lens. Nevertheless, these first shots with this new lens are promising.


That probably comes down to the wide open F/stop on the lens Andy. On the 800mm F/5.6L, its nowhere near as good at showing the peaking as the 500 F/4.5L mate. That includes using DMF at the same time. The brighter the lens, the less issue you have with peaking. I think it works like this, smaller aperture, less contrast, less peaking. DMF for some reason seems to be worse at showing it. I don't like using high with the peaking settings, so mine very rarely shows using the EVF and DMF unless its a really bright day. Straight EVF, not so much of an issue.
