How many charges? What are your expectations?

Anyway to refresh (condition) an aging 5D3 battery?

My batteries are showing a lot of use, and am wondering if their is anyway to re-condition them, or do they need to be replaced?

As many lithium technology batteries have their own sensors and even processors, conditioning has more to do with charge management and cycle count - usually about 500. In high end applications, the battery is infrequently charged to 100%, more often only to 70 or 80%. Given the cost of a Canon LP-E6 and the number of shots you can get on a charge, they're good value and worth replacing once in a while

There are laptop batteries out there that will report themselves as requiring replacement due to age, with no regard to charge cycles!
