Re: This is not the issue with a left/right discrepancy.

I can confirm this issue with this lens, I too have upgraded from a D90 to the D7100, with my primary lens being the 35mm NIKKOR 1:1.8G, and can confirm without a doubt that the focus is out on all the focus points (although it is much more noticeable on the points towards the left and right edges). I have only just finished sending an email to Nikon with example images, here is the original image:

And here is a 100% crop showing how the focus is out (now this is with the second furthermost focus point from the left (the focused point had the top of the L DEAD center of the focus point in the viewfinder):

Maybe I'm doing something wrong? But this seems like a pretty comprehensive test, this issue results in eyes and faces coming out soft and not in focus when trying to compose a portrait shot of someone using the camera in tall mode because you have to use the left / right focus points (depending on which way you rotate the camera).

This for me is unacceptable and results in poor photos compared to my D90, I will at some point test with other lenses (I also have the 105mm NIKKOR MICRO lens which will probably show the issue up even more with Macro shots).
