With autoISO off (at base ISO), in A mode (smallest aperture, >F16) take a shot of a clear sky or blank wall (may need to turn AF off if can find anything to focus on). Then look at the file at 100%. You'll see anything on the sensor. Don't assume any spot you see is oil.
